Easy Riders

Whether it's because the name conjures images of jovial Indians polishing their Schwinn cruisers or because it abbreviates snugly into an acronym shared by the most powerful media outlet on earth, London rockers Bombay Bicycle Club have pinned down the most elusive of name traits, bizarre and somehow unforgettable.

Even if the band wasn't in possession of such an effective name, they'd still be making one for themselves, as evidenced by the quartet's third studio album, A Different Kind Of Fix. While the material was hardly a departure from previous efforts, the album's production was indeed a fix of a different kind. Producer Ben H. Allen (Animal Collective, Fanfarlo) seems to have helped the band to smooth out their rough spots without dulling their indelible pop gleam. If last year's Fix is a sign of things to come, then BBC's programming is on quite the uptick.
