Eduardo Rivera's Print Fundraiser, Dancers Among Us, and Another Great Letterpress Film

Welcome to the Morning Buzz, a catch-up on interesting happenings around the city and country and a quick guide to what (and who) to keep your eyes on. We'll be here, first thing every weekday, to get you going. Here's what's buzzing this morning:

1. "Get to San Francisco"
Eduardo Rivera graduated from ASU's photography program in December, and this March, he's headed to San Francisco to the national conference for the Society for Photographic Education ... if he can raise the cash. Like any creative, Rivera's thinking outside the box and selling prints to get there. Until March 5, he's taking pledges of $10, 15, and 20 in exchange for archival, signed, edition prints. You can check out his series here.

2. Dancers Among Us

In 2009, New York photographer Jordan Matter began photographing New York dancers from Paul Taylor and Martha Graham Dance Companies mid-air in everyday New York settings. He's since been around the country and has collaborated with hundreds of dancers in their hometowns.

"The process of producing the images is organic; created through a spontaneous collaboration with the dancers," he writes. "The resulting photographs are unaffected and not highly stylized. The essence of the subject material parallels the current state of our society, where people are finding an appreciation of smaller, simpler pleasures."

Matter is currently looking for dancers across the country for a book to be published in 2012. Read more about his project here.

3. Upside Down, Left To Right: A Letterpress Film

Below is Danny Cooke's short film about one of the few remaining movable-type printing workshops in the UK.
