Elvis Lives

SAT 6/18
Elvis. He's in the building. He's left the damn building. Oh, it really doesn't even matter, because fans everywhere still seem to witness and connect with that jumpsuit-wearin', love-me-tender, peanut-butter-eatin' crooner on some plane, be it earthly or astral. In fact, he'll be making an appearance via the body and pipes of local Elvis impersonator Paul Spoonmore on Saturday, June 18, at The Vineyards Italian-American restaurant. Spoonmore's spot-on Elvis experience, which delivers more than 40 Presley numbers, is a benefit for Southwest Airlines mechanic Tim White, who is currently battling kidney failure that came about following a lengthy treatment for cancer. The admission charge includes entry into a raffle for a pair of Southwest tickets, with all of the proceeds going to the White family. Cost is $10 and includes two shows, at 6 and 8 p.m. The Vineyards is located at 13232 North 111th Avenue in Youngtown. Call Paul Spoonmore at 623-203-6198, or The Vineyards at 623-977-0800. -- Amy Young

Along Comes Pally
Fashion, music, and bevvies at Estilo

SAT 6/18
At 24, Rachel Pally is a Berkeley grad, a dancer, and now a celebrity designer." Damn overachiever. Maybe we'll be duly inspired and motivated on Saturday, June 18, when Estilo Boutique at Kierland Commons, 15425 North Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale, hosts an exclusive meet-and-greet with Pally as part of "Estilo Summers," a monthly "fashion escape." The L.A. native has made an impact by "introducing a vibrant new take on casual elegance." Styling Jessica Simpson (pictured) doesn't hurt the résumé, either. Guests enjoy complimentary cocktails and music by DJ P-Body. Call 480-247-8090 to RSVP. -- Joe Watson

Rocky Steady
Oh, the Horror at Trunk Space

SAT 6/18
Once you go Rocky -- the Rocky Horror Picture Show, that is -- you never go back. At least, that's the case for Marina Colon, a longtime Rocky fan and founder of Voodoo Bettie's Burlesque & Variety Show, which -- along with local Rocky performers Banned On Broadway Cabaret (BOB) -- presents The Day the Earth Stood Still, an homage of sorts to Colon's fellow freaks who just can't let go, on Saturday, June 18, at the Trunk Space, 1506 Grand Avenue. "There are cast members still involved with children and families of their own, some of which have their own mini-costumes, of course." Dress up for the costume contest and do the Time Warp -- again -- starting at 8 p.m. Admission is $10. Call 602-256-6006. -- Joe Watson
