With its stable of Gold Glovers, home run kings and future Hall of Famers mired in a disastrous season, the Arizona Diamondbacks are (to borrow from Soundgarden) looking California but feeling Minnesota these days. So it's most apropos that the cellar-dwelling D-Backs take on the Twins -- those of the Land of 10,000 Lakes -- for a three-game interleague tilt, Friday, July 2, through Sunday, July 4, at Bank One Ballpark, 401 East Jefferson. While baseball commish Bud Selig's interleague match-ups -- that's National League vs. American League teams, for you baseball novices -- have met considerable resistance from the purists since interleague play began in 1997, we think the idea is just dandy.
