Calling all fashion inspired uniquely gifted artists: For the first time in Arizona, Fashion Fantastico is hosting a wearable arts event.

Fashion Fantastico is an event that allows the human body to become a canvas and allows fashion and art to become a performance. And this year, the group's members are asking local artists to submit concept designs for a wearable art show scheduled for April.

Artists can submit entry forms that include a description of how their design will "come to life in terms of runway performance, stage dressing, or any other necessary presentation elements" or contact Trish Arana, who is a member of the board for Fashion Fantastico.

"Artists are coming from every profession imaginable, from architects to fashionistas," says Arana. "Anyone creative can get in on this and the imagination is the limit."

All designs entered in the Fashion Fantastico show will benefit Arts, Education, and Tourism in the West Valley.

A panel of judges will select which costumes will participate in the show. There will also be a People's Choice Award, determined through Facebook votes.

This event will take place on Saturday April 14 at the Water Dance Plaza, 6770 N. Sunrise Boulevard in Glendale.
