Etsy has made it easier for aspiring crafters to get their work out there -- for better or worse. It begs the question: Do you really need to make and sell $40 earrings poorly modeled after The Beatles, an abstract painting of a weird tiger and Corvette hybrid, or anything that includes "cats" and "cute" in its title? Without a trained eye and some experience, would-be crafters run the risk of inclusion Regretsy hall of fame.

Fortunately for these folks, the third annual Phoenix Craft Rave offers workshops for such projects as making shrines out of cigar and match boxes, creating graffiti T-shirts, crafting artsy paper tea lights, fashioning fabric and plastic jewelry, and more. If design isn’t your thing, the ten-hour make-and-take marathon also features vendors, raffle prizes, and swag bags.
