Figure Hate

Even celebs have love-hate relationships with their bodies. For example, Rihanna recently confessed that she struts around naked to confront her body issues, while Kris Jenner posted a nude pic of her younger self preggo with son Rob Kardashian (as if his sisters don’t provide enough embarrassment).

Body image and political correctness are at the heart of Annie Baker’s Body Awareness. “I suspect there are times in everyone’s life they wish they looked somewhat different than they do,” says Matthew Wiener, director of the Actor’s Theatre production.

The show follows a famous photographer preparing to shoot a high school teacher in the buff during a local college’s Body Awareness Week. Toss in one angry feminist girlfriend and a son showing signs of Asperger’s, and it’s as volatile a situation as slap-happy Chris Brown joining in Rihanna’s “Birthday Cake” remix.

Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m.; Thursdays, 7 p.m.; Wed., April 11, 7 p.m. Starts: March 30. Continues through April 14, 2012
