For The Rest of Us

Know why shopping feels like a job? You're stuck indoors with bad food and everything boring and bland. Play hooky from all that on Wednesday, December 14, when Get Your PHX co-hosts Phoestivus Market at Phoenix Public Market from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Unlike the Seinfeld universe's alterna-holiday, this celebration employs the phoestive and ultra-local "ph" phoneme -- but in the spirit of the original, there'll still be a pole, Feats of Strength, and Airing of Grievances.

Grievances might be hard to come up with, though. Browsing unique handcrafted gifts al fresco, scoping meal ideas among the freshest of ingredients, and listening to merry live caroling, you'll also have access to the finest in drinks and snacks, both indoors and outdoors, when weariness sets in.

Wed., Dec. 14, 4-8:30 p.m.; Wed., Dec. 21, 4-8:30 p.m., 2011
KEEP PHOENIX NEW TIMES FREE... Since we started Phoenix New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Phoenix, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
