Fortunate Suns

Fortunes don’t change often in the NBA, but when they do, they change quickly. A year ago, the Miami Heat were a powerhouse that seemed all but certain to contend for NBA titles for the next half-decade. The Phoenix Suns, meanwhile, seemed destined for a long cycle of rebuilding. One year, one Eric Bledsoe breakout, and one Lebron James decision later, the Suns are the team that look like contenders.

Whether the Suns have actually surpassed Miami -- who still feature Chris Bosh and the reanimated corpse of Dwyane Wade -- remains to be seen. The Suns could make a strong argument on Tuesday, December 9, by beating the Heat at US Airways Center, 201 East Jefferson Street.
