Gatsby, Gamed

One new idea for every day in 2011. We're talking big, small, local, international, in action and on the drawing board. Here's today's -- what's yours?

While The Great Gatsby's in pre-production for the (3D) silver screen, you can officially get your literary cocktail fix via 8-bit.

Charlie Hoey and Pete Smith co-wrote and created the game in their spare time, and invite gamers to collect gold coins and icy cocktails before defeating the giant eyes featured on the original cover of the book. And that's just the first level.

Check out a playable version of the game here, and if you have yet to read F. Scott Fitzgerald's book (we won't tell), at least pick up a copy before Leonardo DiCaprio takes over the main character role in the near future.
