Carnival food, fireworks, and the inevitable hordes of Phoenicians (who hopefully packed some sunscreen) may make it easy for anyone to avoid flocking to one of the Independence Day hotspots -- don't worry, we'll have a rundown of firework spots later today. But in celebration of this Fourth of July, just try saying no to a sweet deal at many of our own local, independent shops and restaurants.

We're talking 20 percent off at more than 157 local businesses. Try matching that up against a cotton candy.

Participating stores, coupon link and more info after the jump ...

Local First Arizona's Golden Coupon is valid today through July 4 and just has to be printed and presented at any of the businesses listed on their Golden Coupon website.

A few of our faves include Cerreta Candy Company in Glendale, the Desert Botanical Garden, the Heard Museum, and Blueberry Deluxe boutique in Phoenix, Changing Hands Bookstore and Hoodlums Music in Tempe, and Pop: The Soda Shop in Scottsdale. But let's be real -- there are 150 more participating.

The coupon can be downloaded as a .pdf or viewed and printed as many times as you want, just remember to bring one to each of your local shopping spree locations. Check out LocalFirstAZ.com for more details and links the the coupon.
