As if you wouldn't have guessed by the enormous, creepy-looking daddy longlegs spider perched in the front yard, Halloween is sort of a big deal at the Alwun House. So much so that they celebrate the occasion throughout the entire month of October via the annual "Monster's Menagerie" group show, which features "blood-curdling creations, profane noir fantasies, and other unworldly art" from more than a dozen creatives across multiple mediums. The exhibition is viewable from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays in the gallery until October 31. Admission is free.
You can also check out these macabre masterpieces before and after Planet Poe Theatre's performance of The Fall of the House of Usher and other works by the infamous Edgar Allan Poe at 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 25. Tickets are $9 in advance, $13 at the door. The yearly Monsters Ball will take place one week later on Saturday, October 31, and feature a performance by OPENDANCE, music from The Sinisters and The Mod Zombies, a costume contest for prizes, "horror d'oeuvre" finger foods, and a cash bar. Dead By Dawn

Ravers, EDM fiends, and party animals will be rump-bumping and fist-pumping until well after the witching hour during Dead By Dawn, an all-night dance party on Halloween night that will take place at an unspecified location. Ghostball Block Party

If you happen to have a fantastic getup that's sexy, stunning, or spectacular, better make plans to attend the annual Ghostball in Scottsdale, as the blockbuster Halloween night block party boasts $10,000 in cash and prizes for the winners of its costume contest. Encompassing three Old Town bars — Hi Fi, Bottled Blonde, and Maya Day and Night Club — the affair will also feature more than 5,000 people in attendance and spin sessions from Kyroman, D-JR, and DJ Circle. Downtown Phoenix's sidewalks and streets will transform into a scene akin to The Walking Dead writ large when thousands of wannabe brain-eaters will stumble through during Zombie Walk 6 on Saturday, October 25. An all-day Halloween festival featuring feature live music, vendors, face-painting booths, a beer garden and more kicks off at 1 p.m. and the walk itself starts at 5:45 p.m. Admission is free. The celebrating will be quite spirited throughout Halloween weekend at this boutique hotel during the Haunted Hotel Ball, which includes events over the course of two days and nights. Things kick off on Friday, October 31, with the opening party from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. that will feature DJs like Slippe, Tranzit, Hemmesphere, and Convince performing in the Anchusa Ballroom, Distrito, and Zocalo. Tickets are $40 for general admission, $400-$750 for VIP table service. A "Masquerage Pool Party" will then take place from noon until 7 p.m. at The Saguaro's outdoor pool. Admission is $15-$500. And a Dia de Los Muertos closing party goes down later that evening from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. with even more DJs throughout the hotel. Tickets are $40-$750.
