While a world of differences (and more than 2,500 miles) separates the Phoenix Coyotes and the Montreal Canadiens, the two NHL franchises have more in common than you might think. Both teams have not only gone through ownership changes in the last few years, but are currently fighting to emerge from the cellars of their respective divisions with a lineup of new faces and acquisitions.

The Coyotes have recently traded for former Nashville Predator center Cal O'Reilly, who they’re hoping will add some impact to the team, along with up-and-comer Andy Miele and reacquired forward Brett MacLean. In the off season, the Candiens picked up veteran right-wing free agent Eric Cole, who’s been scoring goals aplenty.

The new and improved squads will face off on Thursday, November 10, at Jobing.com Arena, 9400 West Maryland Avenue in Glendale. The hometown hockey heroes are also promoting the game as their “Military Appreciation Night” and will offer discounts for veterans and members of the armed forces, as well as bobbleheads of Senator John McCain (a noted Coyotes booster who’s been instrumental in keeping the team in the Valley).
