Ice Age

Never mind that the now-Arizona Coyotes are holding down sixth place in the Pacific Division, 10 points behind frontrunner Anaheim Ducks, who were recently defeated by Arizona in a shootout. Almost every hockey team makes the playoffs now anyway. Still, there’s plenty of time for AZ to make a strong run, beginning with a match against the equally beleaguered Colorado Avalanche. Both teams hover near their division cellars, but that doesn’t mean things won’t get hot on the ice. Coyote goalie Mike Smith has been stopping almost everything lately, while the Avs Alex Tanguay keeps finding the net.

The puck drops 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, at Gila River Arena, 9400 West Maryland Avenue in Glendale. Tickets are $30 to $320. Visit or call 623-772-3800.
