King of the Mountain

Every child dreams big; our dream was to capture the world record for the longest fingernails. The only reason we aren’t currently in The Guinness Book of World Records is that we repeatedly lost sight of our goal whenever our Mom threatened to revoke our dessert privileges. At the end of the day, we lacked the inspiration to stay committed.

If you’re looking for inspiration – or mountain-climbing tips – then drop money on tickets to see acclaimed mountaineer Ed Viesturs speak at Mesa Arts Center. Viesturs is the only American to climb all 14 of the world’s 8,000-meter mountains. He’ll explain how his accomplishments resulted from a goal-oriented mindset and discuss how to apply that mindset to other walks of life.

The lecturen kicks off the National Geographic Live Arizona speaker series.
