Technological nightmares conjured up by sci-fi and tin-foil-hat-wearers havent quite lived up to their billings. Despite fussy printers, computer crashes, and email disasters, computers have yet to summon up their artificial intelligence to defeat us.
Theres a delicate and still emerging relationship between humankind and technology, something that Dayvid LeMmon is keeping his eye on it in his Machine Vision solo exhibition. The Valley native might start with a cameras lens, but LeMmon takes the result and layers it with other images, creating works that are deftly composed of juxtapositions. For this show, LeMmons manipulated images will be shown as large-format archival digital prints. Even at his most stark, the importance of a human touch shines through.
