Okay, Thanksgiving's come and gone, so even the Grinchiest humbuggers should be ready to feel Christmasy. It helps to wait for evening, when there's that nip in the air. Get out of the car. See pretty lights. Not there yet? Here's the prescription: a loading dose of cheer at the APS Fantasy of Lights Opening Night Festival. A glittery parade (bands, horses, the whole nine yards) will begin at Third Street and Mill Avenue in downtown Tempe and march down to Centerpoint, where you can see Santa and the tree-lighting. (Will Grand Marshal Clifford the Big Red Dog flush those giant bronze jackrabbits? We wonder.) The Sahnas Brothers will share their Mediterranean guitar virtuosity, and the cast of Ahwatukee Foothills Ballet's The Nutcracker will undoubtedly be adorable. The evening concludes with fireworks.
