Each week Gem features one standout piece from a local shop. Whether it's a jacket, necklace, or handbag, it's on our have-to-have list.
What: Arizona's first Madewell opened at Scottsdale Fashion Square yesterday, and we were lucky to pick up one of the shop's limited edition Arizona-themed canvas tote bags inked in navy.
On the carryall are factoids about the state, with mention of copper, Tombstone, bolo ties ("Fit to be tied? Not exactly."), Four Corners, and hummingbirds.
A salesperson let us know that the new shop could run out of the totes by the end of the day -- and that was yesterday afternoon. So there's a chance that they've all been snapped up, making the super cute bag all the more enviable.
Where: Madewell in Scottsdale
Cost: Free with purchase
Style It: Since the shop could have run out of the bags, we'll imagine up a breezy, casual look suited for an almost-summer day and you can tack on your satchel of choice. And, we'll do it with other non-limited items we spotted at the shop. How's that?
The tailored chambray Double-Dutch shorts in dark tobacco and bright red Party Favor T-shirt are pieces that could transition from a day running errands to a night out at a neighborhood bar.
Complete the look with the Farmland piglet pendant about your neck, and latch the Campcraft bracelet around your wrist. Oh, and your bag of choice. Fin.
