Merc-y Waters

It's a tale of two cities. Phoenix's lady ballers, the Phoenix Mercury, are near the top of the WNBA's Western Conference while the New York Liberty are cellar dwelling in the East. Despite the seeming disparity, both squads are trying to shift out of middling showings so far this season.

The face-off between the two might just be when the Mercury will take its stand. The reigning WNBA champs have plenty going for them, especially with Diana Taurasi leading the league in scoring. The Liberty, though, have former Mercury player and the league’s number-two scorer, Cappie Pondexter, in its frontcourt.
