Ode to Dick

It’s just a matter of time before former President George W. Bush and his dunderheaded capers are immortalized in song. For now, we’ll enjoy Nixon in China, which sonically chronicles America’s favorite screwball of the 1970s. The Phoenix Symphony presents John Adams’ unbeatable work recalling Nixon’s 1972 dealings with China's Chairman Mao Zedong as well as the awkward interactions between Tricky Dick’s wife, Pat, and some swine at a rural Chinese pig farm.

The concert will also feature a backdrop of archival still photos and video.

Thu., Nov. 12, 7:30 p.m.; Fri., Nov. 13, 11 a.m.; Sat., Nov. 14, 8 p.m., 2009
