New Year's Eve 2013 Parties in Downtown Phoenix Downtown Phoenix was replete with a slew of New Year's Eve parties, including spirited shindigs like the '70s-inspired Boogie Ball at FilmBar, a night of punk rock headlined by Scorpion vs. Tarantula at The Lost Leaf, and the hipster-meets-disco festivities at the Crescent Ballroom during Sean Watson's Amateur Night New Year's Eve.

First Friday Art Walk in Downtown Phoenix, 1/3/14 Phoenix's first First Friday Art Walk of 2014 got the year off to a great start by featuring some fantastic artists and vendors. The cooler weather rendered slightly smaller crowds; numerous enough for a good time with plenty of foot traffic, yet not populated to the point of frustration when trying to view the art.
New Year's Eve Flannel Ball & Art Show at Lawn Gnome While most Valley folk were drinking it up while counting down the hours until 2014 dawned, the members of the Fifth Street creative scene were hanging out at the the '90s-themed New Year's Eve Flannel Ball and Art Show at Lawn Gnome Publishing and the 909 Housing Collective. The artsy event offered music from Andy Warpigs, Sister Lip, Wolvves, and others, as well as works by such artists as Sierra Joy, Casebeer, J.J. Horner, Brandon Huigens, and Tara Logsdon.
