True warriors used to look directly into their enemies’ eyes before striking them down. Nowadays, Xbros hide behind screen names while lobbing frag grenades and talking smack. In contrast, ConFlagration is a gathering for gamers who keep the fight honorable with plenty of facetime.

LARPing -- ahem, live action role playing -- is on the docket with folks from across the Valley donning battle garb and taking up arms. If sitting and strategizing is more your jam, there are whole rooms dedicated to games like chess, the tongue-in-cheek questing card game Munchkin, and the German board game sensation, Carcassonne. Game design panels will give Con-goers insight as to what’s needed to create their own adventures.
