Pride Fighting

There's only one thing to play for when you're last place in your division, at the bottom of your conference, and have lost twice as many basketball games as you've won: pride. As of this writing, the Phoenix Suns are 17-36. Their Wednesday, March 6, opponents, the Toronto Raptors, are 21-32. Both are fifth place in their divisions. In terms of impact on the post-season, the game means absolutely nothing. But, in terms of pride, it's everything. A win here shows that you still care enough to play your hardest, even when the results don't matter, and at least you can hold your own against a squad equally as abysmal. A win here gets you thinking, "Well, we may be terrible, but at least we're better than Charlotte."
