Puck It

Maybe you’re a northern implant and miss the good old days. It’s possible that you’ve been seeing that gear tucked away in the garage with the intention of actually making use of it. Or there’s a chance that you just missed the one week in Arizona that you could water down the street and have a full sheet of ice in the morning.

Whatever the case may be, here’s the solution: Adult Open Hockey at the Oceanside Ice Arena. Throughout February, the arena has opened spring season with first-come, first-skate hockey every Tuesday through Friday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. You must be at least 18 years old and have your own equipment (this ain’t no second-hand, stinky bowling-shoe business).

The fee is $10 per player. Goalies can earn $10 if they stay until the end.

Tuesdays-Fridays, 12:30-2 p.m. Starts: Feb. 1. Continues through Feb. 25, 2011
