Pucking Good

Would it really be all that strange if Phoenix became known as a big hockey town? After all, the fine denizens of Dubai saw fit to build an indoor ski resort in a city whose climate mirrors ours almost identically. Bizarre unlikelihoods aside, the Phoenix Coyotes are here to stay. Sure, they've been in town since '96, but this season has quite an inaugural feel to it, as it is the first in a while that hasn't been marred by lingering ownership uncertainties. And the 'Yotes have responded in kind.

The team just wrapped up one of their finest opening months in franchise history, and they're off to a blistering start offensively. But they'll have to put a tepid Washington Capitals team on ice on Saturday, November 9, if they plan on staying afloat in the ultra competitive Pacific Division. The puck drops at 6 p.m. at Glendale's Jobing.com Arena, 9400 West Maryland Avenue. Tickets are $20 and up. Visit www.coyotes.nhl.com or call 866-625-4586 for details.
