When the original Arena Football League folded, we had to wonder if it wasn't because the league paid too much attention to the "entertainment" aspect of their product. It's undeniably entertaining to watch a live buffalo run onto the field during a timeout for no apparent reason, but there's no substitute for good football.
Saturday's game between the Arizona Rattlers and the Milwaukee Iron should give a good idea of what the new AFL has in store. The game will feature the top two offenses in a league that's always dominated by great offensive teams. While the Iron has the better record, the Rattlers' home-field advantage may prove to be the deciding factor.
