Diplo bit, and hes been weaving what his native South has to say into his mixes for years as one-half of Philadelphia's Hollertronix and as a solo artist. Starting off with Miami basss booty-shaking rhythms and the dirty South's chest-thumping anthems, Diplo has since looked further south, bringing ramshackle funk carioca from the shantytowns of Rio de Janeiro to the forefront.
