Repeat Performance

We’re willing to bet our lower-level seats that there have been a few moments this season when certain Arizona Diamondbacks players wish they could’ve called a “do-over." Like reliever David Hernandez, closer J.J. Putz, or most of the team’s loathsome bullpen this year, who’ve offered many regrettable, game-changing pitches to the San Francisco Giants, the New York Yankees, and other opponents.

While Major League Baseball’s rulebook prevents such take-backs, the D-backs will get a “do-over” of sorts and experience a little bit of history repeating via back-to-back games with the Texas Rangers on Monday, May 27, during a day/night doubleheader at Chase Field, 401 East Jefferson Street.

Arizona will battle the American League powerhouses during an afternoon contest starting at 12:40 p.m. followed by the nightcap at 6:40 p.m. A street festival takes place in between from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. outside and features games, giveaways, and beer gardens.

Mon., May 27, 12:40 & 6:40 p.m., 2013
