Riding Dirty

Cave Creek and Carefree are gateways to old west living. Once you get past rush hour on the Carefree Highway and do a little exploring, you can imagine the rumble of cattle herding by while true American tough guys, a.k.a. cowboys, use their skills to harness those thousands of pounds of wild, bovine fury.

Though your imagination can take a vacation this week, as Cave Creek Fiesta Days Rodeo and Parade brings that wild west vibe to life. Shine up those belt buckles and wrangle up some time to visit the celebration of riding, roping, and rabble-rousing. Events include Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association's men's and women's timed events, rodeo dances, a parade, and the Mutton Bustin' competition.
