Sit Down, It's Time for Pie.

One new idea for every day in 2011. We're talking big, small, local, international, in action and on the drawing board. Here's today's -- what's yours?

It's no secret; we're semi-obsessed with pie. Our sister foodie blog, Chow Bella hosted a pie social in November, and we've been aching for a comeback ever since.

It was during this craving that we discovered Pie Lab, a pie shop in Greensboro, Alabama that aims to bring the community together and defines itself through a few equations posted on the wall:

Pie+Conversation = Ideas.
Ideas+Design = Positive Change.

When Pie Lab opened, it was a food fix for the community -- an idea that the Lab's creators are still seeing shape the neighborhood a year after it opened. It provides a space for people to gather and discuss, it hosts daily events with live music and presentations, and it serves up some pretty kickass pie.

You can read more about Pie Lab on its website or in its New York Times profile piece. (And you can stay tuned to Chow Bella for a list of local food fixes later today ...)
