With the Phoenix Suns left out of the NBA post-season, the pros might as well keep themselves busy. Steve Nash is enjoying lap dances from Nicki Minaj, while power forward Gani Lawal is doing something that hopefully involves a little less booty-shaking: Judging the Humble Beginning Poetry Contest at Doc's Place in Phoenix.
The season finale for the spoken word series features ten local poets spitting original rhymes and competing against other Valley wordsmiths who have been battling it out (with verbs, not fists) for the past five weeks. The winner, chosen by a panel of judges including Lawal and Jx3 of radio station 98.3 FM, scores a sweet cash prize.
