Imagine that all of lifes exchanges were limited to twenty seconds. Okay, now get your mind out of the gutter. With a guaranteed timestamp, awkward moments such as bumping into an ex, dealing with the curmudgeonly not-so-little lady at the DMV, and having a prostate exam would all be substantially more bearable. Such is the Pecha Kucha philosophy: if you cant do it in 20 seconds beep! Times up.
At Pecha Kucha (which roughly translates to chit chat in Japanese), creative minds come together to present their ideas by displaying 20 images for 20 seconds each. The presenter has only the allotted time to describe each image. Its kind of like speed dating for artists; but instead of conversing with potential dates, the artists talk about their ideas. Wait, thats exactly what artists do on dates -- somebody just wised up and created an event that makes it socially acceptable.
The fourth and final Pecha Kucha Night of this season features professors from Arizona State University.
