Star Stories

Hollywood and scandal go together like Lindsay Lohan and legal woes. One half without the other feels incomplete, and it garners much less attention. While the modern spectacle of sad starlets and crushed careers is entertaining, it's no new phenomenon.

For proof, there's Billy Wilder's L.A.-set noir tale Sunset Boulevard. Gloria Swanson portrays a has-been silent star with delusions of a comeback, and William Holden's sweet-talking screenwriter turns up dead in her pool. How it all went down is a tale juicy enough for TMZ.
