In the summer, we occasionally cast an envious eye toward burgs with cooler temps or nearby bodies of water. But then an amazing fall returns every year to remind us why we suffer through those dog days.

As the leaves drop, block parties pile up just as fast in the Valley. One thing that will keep the Green Streets Fall Festival – scheduled for Friday, November 13, and Saturday, November 14 – notable from the rest: It might be the only bash in town kicked off by partymeister and former vice president Al Gore. While it's unlikely that the Internet's daddy will be in attendance, Green Streets is the finale of the Greenbuild International Conference & Expo, for which Gore delivered the keynote speech. The fest will showcase new technologies for keeping things green and sustainable. A beer garden hosted by local brewing heroes Four Peaks Brewery and plenty of local music will keep things fun.
