Sweet Escape

The number of socially acceptable vices is dwindling, and the next one to fall is obvious. We’re already seeing laws restricting our ability to buy sugar water and smoke cigs, but that was just the camel’s nose. The writing’s been on the wall ever since they took Cathy out of syndication: Chocoholism’s days are numbered.

If your love of chocolate is so great that you genuinely consider it a notable personality trait, then you’ll want to enjoy events like Sunday’s Hot Chocolate 15/5K at Salt River Fields, 7555 North Pima, while society will still let you. The first requirement listed for volunteers is simply “LOVE CHOCOLATE,” so the race organizers obviously want you to know they’re serious about the chocolate thing. Race finishers will be greeted with a giant mug of hot chocolate and fondue.
