Tail of Cool Kitties

We think our own alley cats are smarter than Samantha Martin's Amazing Acro-Cats, because ours manage to snag premium deli snacks without doing circus tricks or playing in a three-piece band. On the other hand, Phoenix's Evelyn, Raja, Violet, Bella, Clyde, Clementine, and Pants don't tour to sold-out houses while raising awareness of animal issues and helping their friends get adopted. (So maybe it's just that we're not so bright.) Kudos, then, to Martin and her super-cute troupe, who are very sensibly away from their Chicago stomping grounds this winter and will be in residence at Space 55, 636 East Pierce Street, through Sunday, January 29.

Miss Tuna and the gang (including the occasional chicken and rat) have appeared on Animal Planet, National Geographic, Discovery, BBC, and The Tonight Show, but they're best appreciated live on stage, doing everything from ringing bells to bowling, purring their little asses off the whole time.
