Despite what the locals might have you believe, not everything is bigger in Texas. But when it comes to basketball, it certainly feels like everything is better. As of early December, Texas’ three professional teams boasted a combined record of 46-15. Hoops aficionados will be quick to point out that this all the more impressive given their stiff Western Conference competition. When it comes to lucky stars, the lone-star state appears to have several. Meanwhile, Jeff Hornacek’s Phoenix Suns are still trying to capture a few lucky stars of their own. Either way, that stiff Western Conference competition will be on full display when the Dallas Mavericks visit Phoenix’s Talking Stick Resort Area, 201 East Jefferson Street, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 23. Tickets start at $35.75. Visit www.suns.com or call (602) 379-200 0 for details.
