One of rock music’s most noted albums comes to life onstage this week.
“Jagged Little Pill” chronicles the journey of a woman, Mary Jane, on a trip through Alanis Morissette’s Grammy-winning album of the same name. Released in 1995 and featuring a ball-busting hit single that may or may not have been about Dave Coulier, Jagged Little Pill became a resonating international record that helped usher in a new legacy of female-fronted rock music. Presented by Phoenix Theatre’s Nearly Naked Theatre company, the small eight-actor ensemble performance is making its Southwest debut after making waves and earning praise in L.A.
The eight-performance engagement wraps up Sunday, September 14. Curtain goes up at 2:30 p.m. with evening performances Friday, September 12, and Saturday, September 13. Recommended for mature audiences, 18-and-over. Tickets are $24 with discounts for students and seniors. Order tickets by phone at 602-254-2151 or at www.phoenixtheatre.com.
