The Vision of Paolo Soleri: Prophet in the Desert

Our eyesight may not be 20/20, but that doesn’t stop us from recognizing the design genius that was Paolo Soleri. The Italian-born, Arizona-bound architect was nothing short of a visionary. Standing proof is Arcosanti, the arts community he designed and founded just outside Phoenix. It exemplifies Soleri’s defining concept of arcology, which blends ecology and architecture. The Vision of Paolo Soleri: Prophet in the Desert follows the late architect’s life and evolution from a Frank Lloyd Wright mentee to an outright innovator.

AIGA Arizona presents a 21-and-over screening of the documentary at FilmBar, 815 North Second Street, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $6.50 to $9 and available, along with more information, through www.thefilmbarphx.com.
