Third Friday, Chinese New Year, The AcroCats, and Barrett Jackson Over the Weekend

Downtown's Third Friday

Third Friday was full of new exhibitions and openings this month. Eye Lounge, Modified Arts, and Trunk Space showcased local artwork and collaborations with local scientists, as well as handmade crafts.

The Year of the Dragon came to Chandler a few days early on Saturday. The Chinese New Year Festival ushered in 2012 with martial arts performances and a series of traditional dances at Chandler Center for the Arts.

Space 55 Theatre hosts The Amazing AcroCats this weekend and next. This performance features performer, Samantha Martin, well, coaxing her feline friends into doing a variety of acrobatic stunts. This show is a must see for anyone who fancies themselves a cat person.

While the Scottsdale Pavilions car show has been going on weekly more than 20 years, it gets even more attention the week Barrett Jackson auction events begin. The older cars usually show up late in the afternoon and leave when the sun goes down, while newer cars usually steal the show at night.
