Mythbusters Live @ Mesa Arts Center You have to love any show that has to run a disclaimer for viewers to not try at home what they're about to do. The next best thing to staging your own horribly unsafe DIY versions of the Mythbusters' projects is to catch them live. Their Behind the Myths tour explodes in Mesa Friday, November 22.

Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage have headed up the mythbusting crew for the past 10 years mixing scientific curiosity and shock-and-awe-seeking fun to tackle urban myths, ridiculous movie tropes, and other experiments. For their live stage show, they'll be sharing behind the scenes tales, bonus videos not previously aired, and their personalities on full blast. For the first time, they'll be inviting up lucky audience members up to take part in their high-powered demonstrations.

White Christmas @ Phoenix Theatre This holiday season, don't just settle for dreaming of a white Christmas, see it on stage with a five-week showing of Irving Berlin's winter classic, White Christmas. Based on the 1954 Hollywood film starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Vera-Ellen, and Rosemary Clooney, this theater adaptation features musical numbers including "Blue Skies," "I Love A Piano," "How Deep Is the Ocean," and of course, "White Christmas."

Nick Kroll @ Talking Stick Resort We here at New Times would humbly like to add a new phrase to the lexicon: Nick Krolling. It's like Rick Rolling, only instead of Rick Astley, you're being punked by comedian and actor Nick Kroll. Here's an example: "Lol but serously first and firstmostly vodka Jesus n Revenge r like in addishun to being holy and as well as rules to liv by hahaha." That, friends, is a YouTube comment, and it was posted in all its grammatically incorrect, nonsensical glory by a Jersey meathead named Bobby Bottleservice -- who also happens to be a character played by Kroll -- on a video of Kroll pretending to be Bobby Bottleservice. That's some real meta shit, man.

Predator Screening @ Pollack Tempe Cinemas The 1987 action flick Predator has a lot going for it, but it's definitely the best of the trio of films (including 1987's The Running Man and 1997's Batman & Robin) featuring the then-future state governors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jesse "The Body" Ventura. Those beefy political-office-bound dudes lead a team on a hunt Saturday, November 23.
A cunning and well-equipped member of an alien warrior race gets dumped to the jungles of Central America. It doesn't really matter why exactly because Arnie's Dutch, an elite military team leader with a penchant for delivering ridiculous lines with a straight face, leads a team of commandos who'll face off with the reptilian humanoid for maximum moviegoer enjoyment.
