Season Opening @ ASU Art Museum Get an eyeful of art and performance when ASU Art Museum celebrates the opening of its new exhibitions. On view are "Traces of Japanese Life: Selections from the Melikian Collection," "Born of Fire: The Pottery of Margaret Tafoya," "Trajectory: Miguel Palma," which closes February 9, and, the newest of the bunch, "Cu29: Mining for You."
"Cu29" artists Clare Patey and Matthew Moore will be in attendance, along with Charles King, who penned a book about potter Margaret Tafoya's work, and artist Holly Hanessian, who will invite attendees to participate in her project Touch in Real Time, which will be exhibited in Pittsburgh this fall.

Steve Rannazzisi @ Stand Up Live With FX's Fantasty Football-centric comedy The League between its fourth and fifth seasons, fans who've settled on reruns for the past month(ish) now have a good reason to get up from the couch. Steve "Kevin" Rannazzisi brings his standup set to Phoenix at 7:30 and 9:45 p.m. Friday at Stand Up Live. Performances continue through Sunday. Tickets are $20.
Voyage Trekkers Season Two Advanced Screening @ FilmBar Season two of Nathan Blackwell's Voyage Trekkers finds the bumbling space crew exploring the final frontier and screwing up at every intergalactic turn. The web show's crew and cast will host and advance screening of the season's first three episodes at 6 and 7 p.m. at FilmBar on Saturday. They'll also participate in an audience Q-and-A session following the viewings. Tickets are $7.
Idiotarod @ Hance Park Arizona Cacophony Society hosts its seventh annual race of decked-out shopping carts chockfull of gonzo competitors on Saturday. Rumor has it some of this year's teams will commit to such potentially hilarious themes as Magic Mike, South Park, and Arizona's own Grumpy Cat. The race takes off from Hance Park at 1 p.m. The Idiotarod is free to watch.
Willo Home Tour @ Willo Neighborhood If we could spend every weekend poking around other people's houses for inspiration (and incidental drooling), we sure would. Lucky for us, we'll get peeks into some choice historic abodes built between the 1920s and '40s on Sunday, during the 25th annual Willo Home Tour. Head to the Willo 'hood at 10 a.m. Tickets are $15 per person in advance and $18 the day of the tour.
