You've worked hard this week, haven't you? You deserve at least one fun activity for your weekend. Read on, my friend, read on.
Devil's Martini Beach Party @ Devil's Martini in Old Town Scottsdale
Hey, remember this? Well, looks like the party was such a blast, organizers are giving it another go tonight, Friday, July 9, at the Old Town Scottsdale location starting at 9 p.m. The beach party will be complete with a sand-filled patio and 2 for 1 beverages. Remember to bring some cash for entry -- donations at the door go to the Arizona Humane Society. Click here for more details.
"Christine Cassano: Invest in Confidence" Opening Reception @ Practical Art
What better time to explore the concept of investment than during a reception, eh? Cassano presents mixed media works that feature industrial materials and pieces of U.S. currency. Like what you hear? You can snag one of her works at a discounted price if you invest ten hours of community service. Check out the opening reception tonight, Friday, July 9 at 7 p.m. Click here for details.
Phoenix Card Shows: Larry Fitzgerald @ North Phoenix Baptist Church
Phoenix doesn't really see a whole lot of celebrity appearances. Especially in the summer. Leave it to our own Phoenix Cardinal receiver Larry Fitzgerald to brave the heat and show some face in the Valley. He'll be signing, well, pretty much anything you want him to (let's keep it clean, kids) on Saturday, July 10 at 12 p.m. Make sure you bring plenty of scratch with you -- it costs $109 to get in. Click here for more details.
"Cars and Guitars" Public Opening @ Tempe Center for the Arts
That has a nice ring to it. We're hoping the show has a nice look to it as well with Scottsdale-based Fender guitars, cars by United Car Club, car memorabilia, and Sucker Punch Sally's motorcycles. Yep, it's 3,500 square feet of gallery space dedicated to those two ultimate man toys. Show opens Saturday, July 10 with a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Click here for more details.
World Cup Final: Netherlands vs. Spain @ various locations
We know, we know . . . we're also sad that it's coming to an end. Even though you can't cheer on the good old U.S.A. for the World Cup final match, we say pick a team and get rowdy with your vuvuzela for this conclusion of the global competition. Kick-off is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Sunday, July 11. Click here for more details or here for our World Cup Soccer Bars Directory.
