Looking for ways to fill up your weekend? Here are your five best bets for getting out and about in the Valley of the Sun.

Movember Party @ Rips Ales & Cocktails The mustachioed and their admirers will gather Friday night for an evening of lip fringe festivities, in honor of Movember and all the month's facial fuzz glory. the bristle bash promises free 'staches and a competition for who has the most impressive whiskers.

Get in on the furry fun at Rips at 9 p.m.

River Nights @ Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center Maybe you've got birds on the brain or simply want to get out and enjoy the outdoors while temps are bearable. Either way, Arizona Audubon's annual River Party is up your alley, with live entertainment from street-jazz group Bad Cactus Brass Band, an alchemy seed bar offering guerrilla gardening tips, and the release of a rehabilitated barn owl.

Peep the party at the Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center on Friday starting at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the event.

Ladies on Fire @ Lawn Gnome Publishing Phoenix feminist artists take over Lawn Gnome on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. with live dance, comedy, poetry, music, and more from such illustrious local acts as Tap Dat AZ, Jacki O, and Provocatease (among 20-plus artists and performers).

Ernesto Moncada hosts this fourth annual ladies' night, to which admission is free before 8 p.m. and $5 after. Seating is limited to 200, so attendees are encouraged to arrive early.

"Cyanotype on Silk Scarves" @ Art Intersection Fiber artist Elise Deringer will lead this accessory-making workshop, during which attendees will employ the cyanotype process (used in photo printing to create a blue image) to print onto a scarf. The class takes place at Art Intersection on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and costs $85, including materials.

Sunset Social Rooftop Party @ Hotel Palomar From nightlife pros Jen Deveroux, Faux Show, Dumperfoo, Al Page, and Tricky T comes an afternoon bash that party people won't wanna miss. The weekly party kicks off at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Hotel Palomar, featuring resident DJs Jared Alan, Tricky T, and Al Page in the mix, with a special guest appearance from Sean Watson.
