Cinco de Mayo Block Banger @ Dos Gringos Get your Cinco de Drinko on at Craftsman Court, with live entertainment and plenty of booze. With the promise of all-day games and debauchery, the bash amps up starting at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at Dos Gringos Scottsdale. Cover is $8.
Aziz Ansari @ Comerica Theatre Aziz Ansari's latest stand-up sets have revolved around one big ol' universal topic: relationships. Themes of dating, marriage, and kids (and a fear of all of the above) are at the fore of the new material the comedian's dishing during his Buried Alive Tour.
The grown-up topics are a departure from the pop culture focus of his past specials Dangerously Delicious and Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening. Both were rife with riffs on grown-ass man R. Kelly, how completely Kanye West Kanye West is, and Fifty Cent, in all his citrus-discovering glory. Perhaps hitting 30 inspired this new wave of jokes, but Ansari's birthday hasn't pushed him to get hitched. In fact, Ansari compares settling down to being buried alive -- hence the tour's title.
Ansari performs at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at Comerica Theatre. Tickets are $35.
