Traditionally, Thanksgiving is a time to bond over football, pumpkin pie, and a giant, golden turkey. But, for the more compassionate among us, the thought of stuffing and roasting a feathered friend seems more like a crime than an important holiday happening – and we respect that choice. So we say, thank goodness for ThanksLiving.

Hosted by Green New American Restaurant, 2240 North Scottsdale Road in Tempe, the fifth annual event puts a vegan spin on the celebration. Scratch the turkey in favor of Chef Damon Brasch’s eco-friendly, multi-course gourmet vegan meal. The community event also will feature animal-friendly crafters, turkey adoption sponsorships, music, and an art exhibition from Tracy Dove. Guests can bring gently used towels and blankets to donate for animals awaiting homes at local shelters.
