Victory Over Capitalism

Arise, lazy peasants! Raise your fists and remember Saturday, December 5, the day we finally overthrow that evil, tyrannical, big-box bastion, Walmart. Our weapon of choice? Indie Chic @ 10th Street, which marks a sweet victory for our God-granted right to purchase independent designer clothing, original artwork, custom jewelry, and toys at an “alternative craft fair.”

More than 30 local professionals will set up their wares around the ASU Art Museum grounds, including Loveland Boutique, Lab 5, artists Heidi Abrahamson and Eleanor Richards, and alt stuffed-toy purveyor Zombie Sock. New Times asked ASU employee and shopping sympathizer Diane Wallace for comment. She confirmed that the vendors are “all independent artists who were selected based on their unique, urban aesthetic.” Adds Wallace, “Everything sold is required to be handmade.” Otherwise, it’s off with their heads!
