Mad Juanas MySpace page boasts, Imagine Django Reinhardt and Patti Smith fronting the Velvet Underground in a Bourbon Street dive, and the exotic soulfulness and inflamed passion rises like a possessed voodoo spirit. Yeah, well, thats kind of true, but lets break it down a bit more simply: The bands music is the shit and deserves more play.
The NYC-based outfit features Sami Yaffa the former bassist for Hanoi Rocks and a current member of the New York Dolls as well as vocalist Karmen Guy singing in a Patti Smith/Amy Winehouse/Siouxsie and the Banshees style, all backed by a Latin horn section and even some stretched-out drum passages.
