Fourth of July is all about tradition, whether you’re stuffing your face with barbeque or dressing up in your finest red, white, and blue garb. Fireworks are bound to be part of the equation, and though it may be tempting to watch the Boston display from the comfort of your own home, it’s just not the same as seeing fireworks live. Tempe Town Lake’s Fourth of July celebration is a local tradition on par with drinking beer and playing with sparklers (though personal fireworks aren't permitted at this event). The massive, 35-minute fireworks display includes patriotic music, live musical performances ina variety of genres, and barbeque for the whole family.
Get patriotic on Thursday, July 4, at Tempe Beach Park, 80 West Rio Salado Parkway. Doors open at 5 p.m., the fireworks display starts at 9:15. All-ages tickets are $5. Call 480-350-5189 or visit www.tempe4th.com.
