Weekly Freebie: Aircraft Fly-In & Classic Car Show

Each week, Jackalope Ranch brings you a free event, workshop, or you-name-it happening in Phoenix. Because sometimes the best things in life really are free. This week's freebie: Wickenburg Aircraft Fly-In & Classic Car Show

Next Saturday, October 13th, the 18th Annual Aircraft Fly-In & Classic Car Show is taking place at the Municipal Airport and Wellik Field off Highway 60 in Wickenburg. It's a great excuse to get out of town, see something free, and win the hearts of any high-flying, aviation-loving companions (most likely, your dad).

The show which is co-sponsored by Wickenburg Chamber of Commerce, Town of Wickenburg, Wickenburg Airport Advisory Commission, Experimental Aircraft Association, and the "Wickenburg Dust Devils," will have pilots flying in their private planes to meet, greet, and discuss the attributes of each aircraft (how they're built, what they can do, how many snakes are on board, etc.)

There will also be 70 plus classic rides for visitors to "ooh" and "aah" over between the various information booths and vendors. The event will kick off with a pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 10-:30 am and conclude at 12:30pm- giving you the rest of the day to explore some other Wickenburg attractions (i.e. Desert Caballeros Western Museum and Vulture Mine) or simply reclaim any sleep you lost after waking up early on a Saturday.
